What is art? I ask myself. I've always thought of it as visual art. Paintings, drawings, expressions on the canvas. Back then so many years ago, I thought I wouldn't fit into DeviantArt, all because I could not draw a decent piece of art. I felt a little saddened, but accepted it as who I was, doing what I can with words instead. Sure, Poetry is a work of art. But somehow, it doesn't receive as much praise as visual art does. Why?

Alas, its still obvious, isn't it? Visual art takes so much more time, so much more effort. The apparent visualization you'd have to do to get the gestures and abstract messages, or just the simple application of your skills onto the canvas. It is something not to be underestimated, this passion that exists while painting or drawing out something from the depths of our souls. But what about people like me?

Those who can at the very least, use words to express themselves, in a way that might be considered "artistic". And yet, there is no real equality between visual art, and written art. It is something not contested, but I question this standpoint...

And I've yet to find an answer.
